Getting Started
PHONE CALL
An intake call is the first step before scheduling an evaluation. It allows the clinician to understand the family’s and child’s needs, gather details about the child’s age and concerns, and discuss how to best support their development. It’s also an opportunity for families to ask questions about the process and services.
EVALUATION
An evaluation identifies speech, language, or communication difficulties, including articulation, comprehension, fluency, and social skills. It establishes a baseline for tracking progress and improvement. The process gathers information from tests, assessments, parent interviews, and observations for a comprehensive understanding of the client’s strengths and challenges.
Screening and Parent Coaching
Screening quickly identifies speech or language delays and determines if further evaluation is needed. Parent coaching provides strategies to help parents support their child’s development at home, including modeling language and encouraging conversation.
THERAPY PLAN
The purpose of reviewing the evaluation and creating a therapy plan is to tailor treatment to the client's specific needs. This process helps identify areas of strength and challenge, set clear, measurable goals, and outline the most effective strategies for therapy. It ensures that therapy is personalized, targeted, and aligned with the client’s progress, maximizing the chances for improvement and success.
